Dramane Koumare: Mali-UAE defender joins Al-Dhafra FC on loan from Al-Ain

Mali-United Arab Emirates centre-back Dramane Koumare has joined Al-Dhafra FC on loan from Al-Ain for the 2026-27 UAE Pro League season. The 21-year-old defender moves on a temporary deal after emerging from a title-winning campaign with Al-Ain.

Koumare, who stands at 1.91m and plays primarily as a right-footed centre-back, has signed on at Al-Dhafra with his loan scheduled to run until 30 June 2027. His parent club retain his registration and he is due to return to Al-Ain at the end of the season.

The move comes after Koumare featured across domestic and continental competitions for Al-Ain. He made league, cup and AFC Champions League appearances last term, including outings in the UAE Pro League, the UAE President’s Cup and the AFC Champions League, as well as featuring in the FIFA Intercontinental Cup. In total, he has accumulated more than 1,900 senior minutes in all club competitions.

Born on 23 January 2005, Koumare holds both Malian and Emirati nationality and has already collected major domestic honours. He was part of the Al-Ain squad that won the UAE league title and the UAE President’s Cup in the 2025-26 season.

Koumare originally joined Al-Ain in July 2023 from Derby Academy and has since seen his market valuation rise to around €150,000. His switch to Al-Dhafra offers the centre-back the opportunity for regular top-flight minutes while remaining in the UAE Pro League.

The loan means Koumare will spend the 2026-27 campaign with Al-Dhafra before returning to Al-Ain at the conclusion of the agreement.
