DR Congo to face Uganda in October double-header in South Africa

The Democratic Republic of the Congo will play Uganda twice in October during the next FIFA international window, with the two friendly matches scheduled for 2 and 5 October.

The dates were confirmed by the Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA), which has also recently announced the players selected for its squad.

The two meetings between the Leopards de la RDC and the Cranes will be held at a neutral venue in South Africa, according to sources close to FECOFA.

The matches will give both national teams an opportunity to work on their tactical understanding and assess their respective squads in competitive conditions.

For the Leopards, the double-header comes at an important stage of their preparations. The friendlies are scheduled immediately after the start of their Africa Cup of Nations 2027 qualifying campaign, which will see the Democratic Republic of the Congo face Equatorial Guinea and Zimbabwe.

The two fixtures against Uganda will allow the Congolese technical staff to maintain the squad’s competitive rhythm, make further adjustments and assess the group’s form ahead of their next continental commitments.
