TP Mazembe Dominate DCMP to Move Closer to Congolese Title
TP Mazembe took a significant step toward securing the Congolese football championship on Wednesday with a commanding 3–0 victory over DC Motema Pembe (DCMP) in the play-offs.
In a high-stakes clash, the Ravens delivered a clinical performance, led by a brace from star striker Mbwana Samatta. The Tanzanian forward struck in the 18th and 54th minutes to give Mazembe firm control of the match. Veteran defender Jean Kasusula sealed the win with a third goal in the 63rd minute, capping off a dominant display from Moïse Katumbi’s club.
The win further strengthens TP Mazembe’s position at the top of the play-off standings and brings coach Patrice Carteron’s side within touching distance of the national title. The team’s blend of experience and attacking firepower proved too much for DCMP, one of their traditional rivals in Congolese football.
With just a few matches remaining, Mazembe look poised to reclaim domestic supremacy, adding to their rich legacy in both national and continental competitions.
