DR Congo forward Yoane Wissa has expressed delight after scoring in their commanding 4-0 victory over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium on Friday night.
The win marked Brentford’s fourth consecutive away triumph in the Premier League, a historic achievement for the club.
Reflecting on the match, the 28-year-old acknowledged the team’s strong performance, especially after weathering Leicester’s early pressure.
Wissa noted the importance of goalkeeper Mark Flekken’s crucial saves in the opening minutes, which kept Brentford in the game.
“I’m very happy with the win. The first 10 miniutes we could have scored and Mark (Flekken) kept us in the game. But this is a performance to be proud of.
“I know they are not in top shape and we are and as soon as we scored we started to control the game from the first minute to the end. We wanted to control the game, keep a clean sheet and get the three points.”
Praising teammate Mikkel Damsgaard, Wissa described him as the “magician” of the team, facilitating play between defense and attack.
“He is the link from the defender to the striker. He is the magician of the team and we are the finishers. We are happy with him and happy with the team. Four goals today and we need to be proud.”
The goal was Wissa’s 12th in 23 Premier League games as he continues to attract interest from top clubs.
