Brooklyn Ilunga unveiled as a Hartlepool United player

DR Congo striker Brooklyn Ilunga has completed a move to Hartlepool United, ending his search for a new club after leaving Bromley as a free agent.

The young forward joins the League One side ahead of the new season and will now look to continue his development with a club he believes matches his ambitions.

Ilunga became available following his departure from Bromley, who secured promotion to League One. The move offers the Congolese attacker an opportunity to establish himself in a new environment and compete for a place in Hartlepool’s squad.

After finalising the transfer, the former Milton Keynes Dons academy player spoke enthusiastically about the project presented to him by the club’s leadership.

“ I’m really excited. I’m happy to be here and ready to get to work. After speaking with the director and the coach, and once I understood the scope of the club and the project they want to implement, I immediately thought it would be perfect for me.

I feel that exciting times lie ahead and that the season is going to be excellent. It was a huge draw for me and I absolutely wanted to be a part of it ,” he said after signing.

The comments underline the importance of the discussions he held with club officials before deciding to join Hartlepool. According to the striker, the club’s vision for the future played a major role in convincing him to make the move.

Ilunga arrives looking to build on the experience he gained last season. Although he was used mainly as a substitute, he featured in 31 matches across all competitions and registered two assists.

The transfer represents a fresh opportunity for the young attacker as he seeks more regular involvement and continued progress in his career. Hartlepool, meanwhile, add a player with experience in English football and a desire to prove himself at his new club.

With pre-season preparations under way, Ilunga will now focus on integrating into the squad and competing for opportunities as Hartlepool prepare for the challenges of the upcoming League One campaign.
