DR Congo attacker Samuel Essende has joined FC Augsburg on a four-year deal, and the German Bundesliga outfit has confirmed on Friday.
The 26-year-old striker makes the move from Portuguese side FC Vizela, where he scored 16 goals in 35 matches last season.
Essende, a former Paris Saint-Germain youth player, expressed his excitement about joining Augsburg and playing in the Bundesliga.
The Congolese international has been capped at the senior level twice after making his debut earlier this month when DR Congo faced Senegal and Togo in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifications.
Augsburg’s sporting director, Marinko Jurendic, praised Essende’s athleticism and ability to add variety to their forward play.
The signing is seen as a significant coup for Augsburg, who have beaten off competition from other clubs to secure Essende’s services.
Essende’s move to Augsburg marks a significant milestone in his career, and he is expected to make an impact in Bundesliga.
His addition to the Augsburg squad will provide a new dimension to their attack, and fans are eagerly anticipating his debut.
