Dortmund under pressure to extend Karim Adeyemi’s contract amid Barcelona interest
Borussia Dortmund could open contract extension talks with Karim Adeyemi in the coming weeks to ward off interest from Spanish giants FC Barcelona.
The German forward of Nigerian descent has had a bright start to the 2025/26 football season and is reportedly on the radar of the La Liga Champions.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, Barcelona have identified the 23-year-old winger as a potential transfer target as they look to bolster their attacking options.
Adeyemi, who remains under contract with Dortmund until 2027, could be tempted by a move next summer if fresh terms are not agreed upon.
With the La Liga champions expected to make an approach as early as the next transfer window, Dortmund are keen to secure Adeyemi’s long-term future at Signal Iduna Park and fend off growing external interest.
This season, the forward has scored two goals and provided one assist after making six appearances for Borussia Dortmund in the German Bundesliga.
In the UEFA Champions League, he has one goal and two assists after making two appearances for the Yellow and Blacks.
