Borussia Dortmund are pushing to secure the services of Carney Chukwuemeka in the coming days.
The club signed the England midfielder of Nigerian descent on loan in January for the second half of the 2024/25 football season.
With the short loan deal ending at the end of the season, Carney Chukwuemeka has returned to his parent club, Chelsea.
According to Transfer Insider Fabrizio Romano, Borussia Dortmund have renewed talks with Chelsea today, hoping to strike a deal for the young midfielder this summer.
Meanwhile, GiveMeSport journalist Ben Jacobs reports that Dortmund remain confident of completing the transfer.
Club sporting director Sebastian Kehl confirmed during the Club World Cup that all parties are keen to find a solution that would see Chukwuemeka continue his development at Signal Iduna Park.
While RB Leipzig were previously linked with the midfielder, sources indicate that Chukwuemeka showed no interest in a move to the Red Bulls and did not engage in talks.
He wants to return to Borussia Dortmund.
