Borussia Dortmund manager, Niko Kovac has confirmed that Austrian-born midfielder of Nigerian descent Carney Chukwuemeka is in line to feature in the upcoming game against RB Leipzig.
Having only recently recovered from a recurring muscle injury, Kovac is hoping that the on loan Chelsea player will stay fit for a longer period to help his team.
Speaking at a press conference ahead of the game against Leipzig, the Dortmund manager said, “Carney has repeatedly had muscular problems, which is why he was out of the squad a few times. When he came in at Lille, he played on the wing. He can play that way, too. He comes from London, hasn’t played much, has few minutes under his belt, and therefore has little strength to go the full 90 minutes. We have to build him up selectively.
“I would like him to be able to play for a longer period until the end of the season.”
Dortmund takes on RB Leipzig on Saturday, March 15, in what should be a mouthwatering encounter in the German Bundesliga.
