Borussia Dortmund interested in RB Salzburg striker Karim Konaté
Borussia Dortmund are reportedly monitoring RB Salzburg striker Karim Konaté as they consider their attacking options ahead of a potential move in the summer.
According to Bild, the 22-year-old Ivory Coast international has recently attracted increased attention from Dortmund following a run of impressive performances.
Konaté has scored four goals in his past six appearances, strengthening his reputation as one of Salzburg’s attacking prospects.
Competition for Konaté
Dortmund are not the only club believed to be interested in the forward.
Bundesliga rivals RB Leipzig and Eintracht Frankfurt are also reportedly monitoring Konaté, while Premier League sides Sunderland and Nottingham Forest have been linked with the striker.
His recent form is likely to increase interest as clubs assess their attacking options ahead of the next transfer window.
Winter move unlikely
A move to Dortmund during the January transfer window currently appears unlikely.
Dortmund already have Serhou Guirassy and Fabio Silva as established options in attack, meaning there is little immediate need to add another striker.
However, the situation could change in the summer if either Guirassy or Silva leaves the club.
Konaté remains under contract with Salzburg until 2028, while his current market value is estimated at around €12m.
