Dortmund complete signing of Franco-Ivorian teenager Joane Gadou

German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund have confirmed the signing of highly-rated Franco-Ivorian defender Joane Gadou.

Gadou joins the German giants from Austrian side RB Salzburg in a major move aimed at strengthening their future defensive core.

The 19-year-old centre-back completed his mandatory medical on Tuesday before putting pen to paper on a long-term contract that will keep him at the Signal Iduna Park until June 2031.

Gadou arrives in Germany with a growing reputation as one of Europe’s most promising young defenders following a remarkable rise at Salzburg. The towering defender joined the Austrian outfit from Paris in 2024 and quickly established himself as a key figure in the team despite his young age.
