The collaboration between Al Ahly and Dominique da Silva has come to an end, as both parties have mutually agreed to part ways. This decision was revealed by the Egyptian site Kingfut on Thursday, citing information from the Cairo club. Da Silva, at the age of 24, bids farewell to the Red Devils after spending three years in the Egyptian capital.
Having joined Al Ahly in 2011 from CS Sfaxien, the Mauritanian player achieved considerable success, winning multiple honors despite facing limited playing time. Considered the ideal replacement for the Angolan Flavio Amado, Da Silva played a part in Al Ahly’s numerous triumphs, including their recent victory in the final of the African Champions League against Orlando Pirates. Rumors of Da Silva’s departure had been circulating for several months, intensifying when he did not appear in the list of players submitted by Al Ahly to CAF for the first round of the African C1. With Al Ahly recently acquiring Gedo from Hull City, the club now has an abundance of attackers, leading to Da Silva’s departure in search of a new opportunity.
