Doku explains how Guardiola and Man City taught him to win
Jeremy Doku says his time at Manchester City has transformed his mindset, especially when it comes to handling pressure and finding ways to win every single game.
The Belgian winger admitted that the standards at City are far higher than anything he experienced before, with the squad expected to compete for trophies on all fronts.
“I’ve learnt to win games. I think that’s the difference from where I came,” Doku explained, noting how the quality of his teammates and the demands from Pep Guardiola have pushed him to a new level. “Obviously in City, the demand is higher, more quality players, and also [they] expect you to win every game. You also play more finals, you play more of these types of games, you’re always in the race of something. So yeah, it’s just that different type of pressure that I’ve learnt how to cope with.”
He also praised the club’s culture as a key part of their success. “It’s a special club because of the consistency. Everyone that works here is working towards the same goal. Everyone is nice, everyone is humble, everyone is just working. I feel like we all just want to maintain the level and just try to reach our goals,” Doku added.
