Beninese midfielder Dodo Dokou opens up on Leixões struggles and uncertain future

Benin international Dodo Dokou has spoken publicly about his difficult spell at Leixões SC, revealing he has not featured or been selected for the first team since December 6, 2025.

The midfielder’s absence from matchday squads and lack of playing time underline a challenging period in his career, yet he has chosen to respond with composure and resilience.

Despite the situation, Dokou insists he remains focused on maintaining professionalism while waiting for an opportunity to move forward.

“This is a challenge only a footballer can face. I remain a sportsman and I know this period will pass. Everything God does is good; I’m simply trying to move forward with fair play.”
