Djibril Cissé, the French striker of Ivorian origin currently playing for FC Kuban in Russia, has expressed his desire to make a comeback in Ligue 1, particularly with Marseille. In an interview with Sofoot, Cissé revealed that he still thinks about the club and would have welcomed the opportunity to return, especially when he was a free agent this summer.
“It’s a club I’m still thinking about. Unfortunately, they never came knocking again. And it’s a shame because this summer I was free. It was a great opportunity. But my career is not over yet,” Cissé mentioned.
Reflecting on his past with Marseille, Cissé shared positive memories, acknowledging his goal-scoring contributions. However, he expressed regret about the circumstances of his departure and not understanding why he wasn’t playing in his last few matches.
Despite the challenges, Cissé retains a positive outlook and dreams of returning not only to Ligue 1 but also to the French national team.
