Djamel Belmadi, a former Algerian international from the 1990s, has been contacted to become the new coach of USM Alger. Belmadi, who recently left Lekhwiya after winning the Qatar championship title twice, has a wealth of experience in Europe and with the national team. USM Alger confirmed the discussions, stating that “due to his experience in Europe and with the national team, Belmadi is the right coach for USMA.” If the transfer is confirmed, Belmadi would succeed the Argentinian Angel Miguel Gamondi, who decided to leave the technical helm of USM Algiers after two consecutive defeats.
