Diriyah target Al Hilal winger Malcom in reported €9m summer move

Saudi Pro League newcomers Diriyah are targeting a deal to sign Brazilian forward Malcom Filipe from Al Hilal, according to Saudi newspaper Al Yaum.

Diriyah are reported to have made an offer worth between €8.5m and €9m for the 29-year-old as they look to strengthen their squad during the current summer transfer window.

The club will compete in the Saudi Pro League this season after securing promotion from the Saudi Second Division. Their recruitment plans are focused on building a squad capable of challenging for a high position in the top flight.

Al Yaum reports that Malcom would not object to leaving Al Hilal this summer. Diriyah officials are seeking to complete negotiations for the Brazil international during the ongoing transfer window, with attacking reinforcements among their priorities.

Al Hilal have also decided that Malcom can leave this summer, following the wishes of their manager, Simone Inzaghi. The Italian coach is understood to have approved the player’s departure as the club considers changes to its squad.

Malcom joined Al Hilal in the summer of 2023 from Russian club Zenit. Since arriving in Saudi Arabia, he has played an important part in the club’s success, helping them win five domestic trophies across three seasons.

His honours with Al Hilal include one Saudi league title, two Saudi Super Cup trophies and two King’s Cup victories.

The Brazilian has made 138 appearances for Al Hilal in all competitions, scoring 46 goals and providing 41 assists. Those figures have made him one of the club’s most productive attacking players since his arrival.

Diriyah are now attempting to use their first season in the Saudi Pro League as an opportunity to establish themselves at the highest level of Saudi football. A move for Malcom would represent a significant addition for a newly promoted side, although no agreement has yet been confirmed.

The current offer is understood to be in the region of €8.5m to €9m, while discussions continue over whether the transfer can be completed before the summer window closes. The player’s reported willingness to leave Al Hilal could assist Diriyah’s efforts to reach an agreement.

Al Hilal’s decision to allow Malcom to depart, together with Inzaghi’s preference for a change, has opened the possibility of a move within the Saudi Pro League. Diriyah’s officials are expected to continue their work on the deal as they seek to strengthen the team ahead of their first season in the competition.

The report was published on Sunday, 9 August 2026.
