Diomansy Kamara dismisses Chelsea return as Nicolas Jackson settles at Bayern
The agent of Senegalese forward Nicolas Jackson, Diomansy Kamara, has shed light on the complexities surrounding his client’s move from Chelsea to Bayern Munich, describing it as a transfer shaped by club rivalry and insisting a return to Stamford Bridge is not under consideration.
Speaking on Canal+’s Talents d’Afrique programme, Kamara reflected on the negotiations and the tension that emerged between the two clubs.
He specifically addressed the remarks of Bayern Munich’s honorary president Uli Hoeness, who had publicly questioned the conditions tied to Jackson’s loan deal.
Hoeness claimed Chelsea had inserted a clause requiring Jackson to play at least 40 matches for Bayern before an obligation to purchase would be activated.
He criticised the demand as unrealistic and unnecessarily restrictive, suggesting it had been used as leverage during talks.
Kamara, offering his version of events, agreed that the process was far from straightforward. He described it as a battle of pride between Chelsea and Bayern, with both sides keen to impose their own terms.
“It was an ego war between the two clubs,” Kamara explained. “There was a lot of talk around this transfer. Initially, it was meant to be a loan without obligation. We pushed strongly because we did not want to go back to Chelsea, and in the end an agreement was reached. The idea of Jackson having to play 40 games for the option to become mandatory was unrealistic. That is not the real objective. His goal is not to count appearances but to establish himself at Bayern.”
The agent also made it clear that Jackson’s chapter at Chelsea is closed. He admitted the striker’s relationship with Chelsea’s manager, Enzo Maresca, was not ideal, and insisted that both parties have moved on.
“Going back to Chelsea is not an option,” Kamara said firmly. “The connection with Maresca was never the best. We will never speak badly of Chelsea because they gave Nico his chance in European football and he spent two years there. But now he is at Bayern, and the focus is on succeeding here. The priority is Bayern for the foreseeable future.”
Jackson, who joined Bayern during the summer, is expected to play a central role in their attacking plans. With the German champions keen to reinforce their forward line, his versatility and work rate have already been highlighted as qualities that could give him a long-term future in Munich.
For Kamara, the most important factor is ensuring his client adapts well and builds consistency in the Bundesliga. The agent underlined that the Senegalese international is determined to prove his worth and sees Bayern as the right platform to do so.
The deal has already sparked considerable debate, given the unusual nature of the clauses involved and the disagreements between the two clubs. Yet with the transfer finalised, Jackson’s focus is firmly on delivering performances that justify Bayern’s investment and silence the questions that accompanied his move.
As Kamara reiterated, the ultimate aim is stability and progression: “The future is about Bayern. Nico wants to grow here, achieve success, and make this chapter one of the defining moments of his career.”
With the agent closing the door on a Chelsea return, all attention now shifts to how Jackson adapts in Munich and whether he can turn the controversy of his transfer into success on the pitch.
