In search of a backup for Rod Fanni, Marseille is reportedly considering Dimitri Foulquier as a potential candidate. The Guadeloupean defender, who was crowned under-20 champion with the French national team, has attracted the attention of OM. It is suggested that Marseille might submit an offer to Stade Rennais to secure the services of the promising West Indian player.
Despite being part of the successful U20 team, Foulquier did not secure a regular starting position in the previous season with Stade Rennais. The 20-year-old is currently under contract with Rennes until 2015 and made 15 appearances in Ligue 1 during the last season. Marseille’s interest in Foulquier may lead to negotiations between the two clubs for a potential transfer.
