Daniel Yeboah, the Ivorian international goalkeeper, has found himself in a contentious situation with Dijon FC. According to reports from Africa Top Sports and football-national, Yeboah was denied entry to the club’s training center by security personnel, despite being accompanied by a bailiff. Dijon FC president, Olivier Delcourt, was also present along with a bailiff.
The conflict stems from Yeboah’s inability to secure a regular starting position within the team. Additionally, comments attributed to Yeboah in a recent article in the daily L’Equipe have further strained his relationship with the club. In the article published on February 14, 2014, Yeboah reportedly criticized the methods of Sébastien Pérez, the club’s sports director, and expressed frustration at his lack of playing time, stating, “I am an Ivorian international but not good enough to play in CFA 2.” As a result, the club has decided to terminate Yeboah’s contract.
Yeboah joined Dijon in 2012, at the request of then-coach Patrice Carteron, when the club was competing in Ligue 1. However, he has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter during his time at the club.
