Didier Drogba is officially back at Chelsea! The Ivorian striker signed a one-year contract to return to the club where he had his peak years (2008-2012), and he’s reunited with José Mourinho, the manager he knows well.
While he’s not yet back to training, Drogba joined the Chelsea squad this Sunday in Slovenia, where they are set to play a friendly against Ljubljana. Although he won’t take part in the match, it’s a chance for him to get acquainted with new signings like Diego Costa and Cesc Fàbregas.
Drogba expressed his excitement, saying:
“I could not refuse the opportunity to work with Jose again. Everyone knows the special relationship I have with this club and I have always felt at home here. My desire to win is still the same and I look forward to helping this team. I am excited about this new chapter in my career.”
