Didier Drogba announced on Thursday that he plans to retire from international football after the 2014 World Cup. The upcoming Africa Cup of Nations in 2013 is expected to be his last appearance in the continental tournament. Drogba, who is currently playing for Shanghai Shenhua, expressed his intention to continue playing at the club level until the age of 39. He mentioned the possibility of exploring a new adventure, possibly in the United States, after his contract with Shanghai Shenhua expires in 2014. Drogba has been a key figure for the Ivory Coast national team since 2004, scoring 58 goals and becoming the team’s all-time leading scorer.
