Didier Deschamps is clearly happy in his role as France’s national team coach and is open to continuing beyond Euro 2016, which France will host. His current contract runs until the end of that tournament, but both he and the French Football Federation president, Noël Le Graët, share the desire for him to stay on.
Deschamps said, “Do I want to continue my mission with France beyond Euro 2016? It’s a possibility, yes, of course… As long as I’m very happy and it suits me very well.” Discussions about his future are ongoing and not being postponed until after Euro 2016.
He has been in charge since summer 2012, taking over from Laurent Blanc, who is currently facing challenges at PSG. Deschamps even envisions the possibility of coaching France in another World Cup after Euro 2016.
