Moroccan international Brahim Diaz has reportedly emerged as one of three Real Madrid players who could be offered to Liverpool as part of a potential deal to sign Argentine midfielder Alexis Mac Allister in 2027.

According to TEAMtalk, citing Argentine outlet El Intransigente, the Spanish giants are exploring the possibility of including players in an exchange agreement to reduce the transfer fee required to secure Mac Allister’s signature.

Diaz is among the names reportedly being considered, alongside French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga and England international Trent Alexander-Arnold.

However, the proposal remains at an early stage, with no formal offer presented to Liverpool. Any potential agreement would also depend on the Premier League club’s willingness to part ways with Mac Allister.

Real Madrid consider player exchange for Mac Allister

Madrid’s interest in the Argentine midfielder has attracted attention in recent weeks, with the club reportedly identifying him as a potential addition to their midfield options.

On 26 October, Sky Sport Germany reported that Mac Allister was among the players being monitored by the Spanish side, with coach José Mourinho particularly interested in his physical presence and defensive qualities.

The reported swap proposal could provide Madrid with an opportunity to lower the financial cost of signing the 27-year-old by offering players in return.

Diaz’s future under speculation

Diaz’s reported inclusion in the potential exchange comes during a campaign in which the Moroccan has struggled to establish himself as a regular starter at Real Madrid.

The 27-year-old returned to the Spanish club in 2023 after spending three seasons on loan at AC Milan, where he enjoyed regular playing opportunities and helped the Italian side win the Serie A title in 2022.

Camavinga and Alexander-Arnold are the other two players reportedly being considered as potential additions to the proposal.

Alexander-Arnold joined Madrid from Liverpool in 2025, while Camavinga has remained part of the Spanish club’s midfield options.

Mac Allister’s Liverpool future remains uncertain

Mac Allister joined Liverpool from Brighton in 2023 after helping Argentina win the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

He subsequently became part of the Liverpool squad that won the Premier League title in 2025.

The midfielder’s current contract runs until June 2028, although uncertainty surrounding a possible extension has contributed to speculation about his long-term future.

The Argentine previously expressed disappointment over not receiving a new contract offer. However, his performances have since strengthened his position at Anfield.

The Guardian reported on 31 October that Mac Allister remains committed to Liverpool, where coach Andoni Iraola values his contribution.

Despite the growing transfer speculation, there is currently no indication that Liverpool have agreed to consider Diaz as part of a potential exchange deal.
