Brahim Díaz optimistic about Morocco’s World Cup campaign
Real Madrid midfielder Brahim Díaz has expressed strong confidence in Morocco’s national team ahead of the official announcement of the country’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking to DAZN on Tuesday, the 26-year-old highlighted the strong connection within the squad and described the team as one capable of achieving major success on the world stage.
According to Díaz, Morocco’s players share a “street football spirit” that allows them to play with freedom, creativity, and confidence.
“I think we all have that spirit, the spirit of street football, if you will, where you go out to enjoy yourself. It’s what connects you with your teammate, the one-two passes, and the one-on-one individual duels.” The Morocco international said.
‘We Can Achieve Great Things’
The former AC Milan player believes the current squad has the right balance of experience and emerging talent to compete at the highest level.
“I think we have a very balanced team, and we can achieve great things together,” Díaz added.
His comments came just hours before Morocco officially confirmed its final squad for the upcoming World Cup tournament.
Díaz Included in Final Squad
Head coach Mohamed Wahbi included the Real Madrid star in Morocco’s final roster, with several experienced players and exciting young talents also making the cut.
The squad features key figures such as Achraf Hakimi and Sofyan Amrabat, alongside promising young players including Bilal El Khannouss and Yassine Gessime.
The combination of established stars and rising talents reflects the balance Díaz referred to in his pre-announcement comments, as Morocco prepares for another major international campaign.
Morocco Prepare for Tough World Cup Challenge
Morocco heads into the 2026 FIFA World Cup carrying high expectations following the country’s historic semi-final run at the 2022 tournament in Qatar.
The competition, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico, will begin on June 11, with Morocco opening their campaign against Brazil two days later in what is expected to be one of the standout fixtures of the group stage.
