Diarra: Senegal midfielder joins Kalamata on free transfer from RFC Seraing

Senegal midfielder Djibril Diarra has joined Greek side Kalamata from Belgian club RFC Seraing on a free transfer. The central midfielder, 22, has signed a deal running until 30 June 2027 with the Super League 1 outfit.

Diarra moves to Greece after a season in the Belgian Challenger Pro League, where he featured regularly for Seraing in the heart of midfield. He arrives with a market value of 250,000 and will be expected to add energy and ball-winning ability in the centre of the pitch for Kalamata.

Born in Kaolack, the 1.82m rightfooter first left Senegal in 2023 when he switched from Generation Foot to Seraing. He went on to make 46 league appearances for the Belgian side, scoring once and adding an assist, as well as featuring in the domestic cup.

On the international stage, Diarra already has notable honours to his name. He was part of the Senegal squad that won the African Nations Championship in the 2022-23 campaign and also lifted the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations title with Senegal U20s in 2023.

Diarras move to Kalamata, completed on 11 July 2026, finalises a permanent free transfer after the end of his spell with RFC Seraing.
