Mo Farah showcased his dominance in the 5000m event at the Birmingham meeting this Sunday, signaling a reassuring performance following his setback in June during the Eugene stage of the Diamond League.
With the absence of Kenyan Edwin Soi, who had halted Farah’s streak of 11 consecutive victories, the British runner of Sudanese origin took control of the race, completing it in 13 minutes, 14 seconds, and 24 hundredths.
Farah, the Olympic champion, secured the top position ahead of Ethiopian Yenew Alamirew. After the race, he commented, “I was the man to beat, and I had to give it my all. The conditions were not ideal, and the others (the Ethiopians) were running as a team, but in the end, I did the job.”
In another event, Bob Tahri secured the 4th place in the 1500m with a time of 3 minutes, 36 seconds, and 87 hundredths.
