Devid Bouah, Youssoupha Mbodji and Mamadou Diatta complete moves across Europe and Tunisia
Africafoot’s 19 August 2026 football news update features three deals involving African players, with Devid Eugene Bouah moving to the Netherlands, Youssoupha Mbodji joining a Belgian club on loan and Mamadou Diatta committing his future to Club Africain.
Bouah leaves Carrarese for SC Cambuur
Italo-Ivorian midfielder Devid Eugene Bouah has left Italian Serie B side Carrarese to continue his career in the Netherlands.
The 25-year-old has signed for SC Cambuur on a two-season contract, with the Dutch club holding an option to extend the agreement by a further year. Bouah is therefore tied to SC Cambuur until June 2028 if that option is taken up.
His arrival was confirmed on the official website of his new club. Bouah is a versatile player who can operate as a right midfielder, right-back or right winger, giving SC Cambuur several options on the right side of the team.
The move gives the player an opportunity to establish himself in a new league and take the next step in his career. His market value is currently estimated at €400,000.
Mbodji joins Zulte Waregem on loan
Senegalese left-back Youssoupha Mbodji will spend the next stage of his development in Belgium after leaving Slavia Prague temporarily.
The 22-year-old has joined SV Zulte Waregem on loan until 30 June 2027. The agreement does not include an option for the Belgian club to buy him permanently, and SV Zulte Waregem has formally announced the transfer.
Mbodji is expected to use his spell in the Jupiler Pro League to gain regular playing time and continue his progress at a high level. The move follows previous interest from England, with West Ham having monitored the defender several months ago, according to exclusive sources cited by Africafoot.
Despite his temporary departure, Mbodji remains contracted to Slavia Prague until June 2030. His estimated market value is €1.2m.
Club Africain secure Diatta until 2029
Club Africain have added Mamadou Diatta to their squad as they seek to become more competitive this season.
The versatile Senegalese defender has left ASC Jaraaf of Dakar to sign for the Tunisian club until 2029. Diatta attracted interest from several clubs, including Simba SC, but opted to join Club Africain after choosing the Tunisian project.
Diatta previously played for US Goree and can be deployed in a number of positions. Although primarily regarded as a defender, he is capable of playing as a defensive midfielder, centre-back or left-back.
Club Africain confirmed his transfer on the club’s official Facebook account. Diatta’s market value is estimated at €25,000.
