Tottenham Hotspur have suffered a setback with left-back Destiny Udogie ruled out for around a month after sustaining a hamstring injury.
The 23-year-old was forced off in the second half of Spurs’ 2–0 defeat to Manchester United, cutting short a difficult night for the team. His absence comes at a crucial stage of the season, with Tottenham still fighting to steer clear of deeper trouble near the bottom half of the Premier League table.
Head coach Thomas Frank confirmed the diagnosis, explaining that Udogie faces between four and five weeks on the sidelines. The Italian defender will definitely miss the upcoming league clash with Newcastle United and could be absent for several more key fixtures depending on how quickly he recovers.
Udogie has been a regular contributor this season, featuring in 20 matches across all competitions and providing one assist, while adding energy and width down the flank.
His injury places extra responsibility on the rest of Spurs’ defensive unit as they look to stabilise results in his absence and avoid slipping further into a relegation battle.
