Desire Doue’s long awaited return headlines PSG’s thrilling draw with Strasbourg
Desire Doue made a much-anticipated comeback for Paris Saint-Germain, marking his first appearance since September as the team faced Strasbourg in an electric 3–3 draw.
Thrown back into action, the young French talent felt his lack of match sharpness, but managed to contribute an assist and plenty of energy to the side.
PSG started the match brightly, quickly pulling ahead at home. It was Doue’s clever play in the opening stages that set up Bradley Barcola for the first goal. However, the match soon turned frantic, with Strasbourg equalizing and then taking the lead.
By halftime, PSG found themselves on the ropes, having conceded three goals in just 23 minutes. “Doué? I need to watch the match again. I’m happy, he’s back. That’s very good news,” coach Luis Enrique commented post-match. “There are still 3–4 important players who need to be in the team. As a team, we gave a good performance.”
Trailing 3–1 early in the second half, PSG rallied. Gonçalo Ramos slotted home a penalty before substitute Senny Mayulu found the crucial equalizer. Though Doué’s return wasn’t marked by fireworks, his assist and presence proved valuable as Paris dug deep for a point.
