Roma are being linked with a move for Union Berlin defender Derrick Köhn, with the Serie A club monitoring the 27-year-old’s situation in Germany.
The ghana, germany left-back, valued at €4.00m on Transfermarkt, is currently on the books of Union Berlin but his contract details are unclear, raising the possibility he could become a free agent if no new deal is agreed. The rumour, logged on 1 April 2026 with the probability of the move still listed as “?”, has prompted speculation that Roma may try to take advantage of any uncertainty over his future.
Köhn joined Union Berlin on a standard transfer from Galatasaray on 19 August 2025 after a spell that also included a loan to Werder Bremen in the 2024-25 season. Before moving to Turkey in February 2024, he had impressed in Germany’s 2. Bundesliga with Hannover 96 following earlier stints at Willem II in the Dutch Eredivisie and Bayern Munich II.
Born in Hamburg on 4 February 1999 and standing at 1.80m, Köhn is a left-footed specialist at left-back. He has represented both Ghana and Germany at youth level and holds dual nationality, adding to his appeal in a market where squad registration rules and non-EU quotas remain a factor for Serie A clubs.
His market value has fluctuated in recent years, peaking at €6.00m during his time with Galatasaray and Werder Bremen before settling at €4.00m after his first months with Union Berlin in December 2025. That valuation could make him an accessible target for Roma compared with some of Europe’s higher-priced full-backs.
No fee, contract terms or agreement between the clubs have been reported, and the rumour remains at an exploratory stage. But if a move to Roma materialises, a switch from the Bundesliga to Serie A would offer Köhn a fresh platform to re-ignite the upward curve of his career and re-establish his reputation as a modern attacking full-back at one of Italy’s biggest clubs.
