Dennis Owusu: German-Ghanaian midfielder joins SFC Opava on loan from Banik Ostrava

German-Ghanaian midfielder Dennis Owusu has joined SFC Opava on loan from Czech club Banik Ostrava, completing a move that keeps the 25-year-old in the Czech football system.

Owusu, who plays as a right midfielder, will move from the Chance Liga to the ChNL after the transfer was completed on 8 September 2026. The deal gives Opava a player with experience at the higher of the two divisions, while Banik retain his registration during the temporary switch.

The transfer represents a change of club rather than a move abroad for Owusu, who holds German and Ghanaian nationality. He remains in the Czech Republic but will now continue his career with Opava in the country’s second-tier competition.

Owusu’s position on the right side of midfield is the clearest indication of the role he is expected to occupy at his new club. His arrival adds a senior option to Opava’s squad at a time when the club are competing in the ChNL.

The midfielder leaves Banik Ostrava after being part of a club competing in the Chance Liga. His move to Opava also establishes a direct link between the two Czech sides, with the player now set to represent the club from the country’s second division.

Owusu was born in Germany and is 25 years old. His listed market value is €200,000, although no transfer fee has been attached to the loan agreement.
