Denmark-born Nigerian winger Patrick Dorgu ‘incredibly proud’ after Manchester United switch

Danish international of Nigerian descent Patrick Dorgu says he is incredibly proud to join Manchester United.

The 20-year-old completed his switch from Lecce to the Premier League on Sunday, signing a five-year deal with an option to extend. His move to Manchester United worth €30m deal plus €5m add-ons.

However, the talented player has shared his excitement after securing a dream move to the Manchester-based club.

“I am incredibly proud to be able to call myself a Manchester United player – this is a very special day for my whole family.

“I cannot wait to work with Ruben Amorim. His vision for this team and the future of the club is incredibly exciting.

“There is a clear plan set out for my development, and I feel that Manchester United is the perfect place to fulfil my potential and complete my huge ambitions.”

The talented player made 21 appearances in the Serie A, scoring three goals and providing one assists across the period.

In all competitions, Dorgu made 23 appearances, racking up three goals and providing an assist.

Meanwhile, the enterprising winger has made four appearances for the Danish national team, scoring one goal since making his debut in September 2024.
