Denis Omedi: Uganda striker joins Gor Mahia from APR FC

Uganda centre-forward Denis Omedi has joined Kenyan club Gor Mahia from APR FC, completing a move that adds a 32-year-old attacking option to the Nairobi side.

Omedi arrives at Gor Mahia after 18 months with APR, having joined the Rwandan club from Uganda’s Kitara in January 2025. His latest transfer was registered on 31 July 2026.

The forward has built his career around the centre-forward position and has also been recognised as Uganda’s Player of the Year once. Born in Lira, Omedi brings domestic and continental experience to his new club.

His recorded performances include 20 appearances in the Uganda Premier League, where he scored five goals and supplied two assists. He also scored twice in two CAF Confederation Cup appearances, while making two further appearances in the CAF Champions League.

Omedi’s most productive continental return came in the Confederation Cup, where he found the net once every 90 minutes across his two matches. In the Uganda Premier League, he played 1,434 minutes and averaged a goal every 287 minutes.

The move marks the latest step in a career that has included spells with Kitara and APR FC before his switch to Gor Mahia. His transfer gives the Kenyan club an experienced Ugandan forward with a record of scoring in both domestic and African competitions.

Omedi’s arrival also places him in a new national football environment after his spell with APR, where he had continued his career following his departure from Kitara. His listed market value is €150,000.

Gor Mahia have now secured the services of Omedi, who joins the club as a centre-forward after completing his move from APR FC on 31 July 2026.
