Denis Odoi has completed a move to NAC Breda on a free transfer after a spell without a club, signing a deal that runs from 24 November 2025 to 30 June 2026.
The 37-year-old right-back, who holds both Ghanaian and Belgian nationality, joins the Dutch side with a current market value of €200,000. Odoi arrives in Breda as a free agent following his departure from Royal Antwerp and a subsequent period listed as “Without Club” earlier in the 2025-26 campaign.
Odoi’s switch to NAC Breda means he will once again be playing abroad, this time in the Netherlands, after many years spent primarily in Belgian football and a significant spell in England with Fulham. NAC are competing in the Eredivisie, giving the veteran defender another top-flight platform late in his career.
Born in Leuven and standing at 1.78m, Odoi has built a lengthy professional CV across several clubs and leagues. After coming through the youth ranks at RSC Anderlecht and KRC Genk, he broke through at Oud-Heverlee Leuven before moves to Sint-Truidense VV and back to Anderlecht. A transfer to KSC Lokeren followed, where he consolidated his reputation in Belgium’s top division.
In 2016, Odoi moved to Fulham in England, adding Championship and Premier League experience to his profile. He later returned to Belgium with Club Brugge in early 2022, then joined Royal Antwerp in 2024. His contract at Antwerp came to an end in the summer of 2025, leaving him unattached until NAC Breda stepped in.
Throughout his career, Odoi has been used primarily as a right-back, though his broader listing as a defender underlines his tactical versatility across the back line. His market value, which once peaked in the multi-million-euro range during his prime years in Belgium and at Fulham, now stands at €200,000, reflecting his veteran status but also the experience NAC Breda are acquiring.
For supporters in Ghana and Belgium, the move extends Odoi’s long career in European football rather than signalling a return to his home environments. Belgian fans will recognise a player who has represented several of the country’s leading sides, while Ghanaian observers continue to follow one of the diaspora figures who has spent his entire professional career in Europe.
NAC Breda, meanwhile, add a seasoned defender who has navigated relegation battles, promotion pushes and European competition environments. With his contract in place until 30 June 2026, Odoi now faces the challenge of adapting quickly to a new league and contributing both on the pitch and in the dressing room.
If he can translate his extensive experience from Belgium and England to the Eredivisie, this late-career move to NAC Breda has the potential to extend his reputation as a reliable, adaptable defender and offer a final notable chapter to a long-running professional journey.
