Démé Ndiaye, the Senegalese midfielder from Lens, is making a comeback after two months of unavailability due to injury. Although he has played in three matches for Sang et Or, Ndiaye acknowledges that he is not yet at 100%. Nevertheless, he expresses his joy at being back on the field after a challenging period of watching his teammates train while he was sidelined.
In a recent statement, Ndiaye shared his sentiments about returning to play, saying, “First of all, it feels good to play. Starting in the last 2 matches, I enjoyed it after being sidelined for 2 months due to injury. I had difficult times seeing my friends training every day while I had to go to the infirmary. I hope from now on to be able to concentrate on the game after a last year marred by physical problems.”
Despite not being at his peak condition, Ndiaye is optimistic about the team’s success. He notes that he cannot last a full 90 minutes yet and has played 70 minutes in each of the last two matches. However, he emphasizes the enjoyment of being back on the field, especially considering the team’s recent victories.
When asked about the team’s goals, Ndiaye expresses Lens’ priority of securing promotion to Ligue 1. While refraining from making predictions, he acknowledges that other teams are also in contention for promotion. Ndiaye hopes that Lens will be among the contenders on the last day and emphasizes the need for calm and focus in achieving their objectives.
