Dembele shines as PSG edge Bayern in nine-goal Champions League thriller

Ousmane Dembele produced a stunning all-round display as Paris Saint-Germain beat Bayern Munich 5-4 in a wild Champions League semi-final first leg at the Parc des Princes.

The French winger was at the heart of PSG’s best moments on a night packed with drama, goals, and momentum shifts between two ultra-attacking sides.

Dembele’s influence began in the 33rd minute when his pinpoint corner found Joao Neves, whose header put PSG 2-1 up after an early Bayern penalty and a Khvicha Kvaratskhelia equaliser. Just before the break, Dembele held his nerve from the spot, converting a VAR-awarded penalty deep into first-half stoppage time to restore PSG’s lead after Michael Olise had levelled for Bayern.

After the interval, the 28-year-old forward struck again in the 58th minute, finishing off a devastating counter-attack with a driven low shot following a powerful run from Desire Doue. His movement, decision-making, and end product repeatedly unsettled Bayern’s defence and ultimately tipped a chaotic contest in PSG’s favour.

PSG now travel to Munich with a slender advantage and confidence high, knowing Dembele has once again delivered when it matters most on Europe’s biggest stage.
