Demba Bâ Fit and Fired Up for Tunisia vs Senegal Showdown
After missing the first three rounds of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers due to a lingering ankle injury, Demba Bâ is finally fit and ready to make his mark. The Besiktas Istanbul striker has recovered fully and is available for Senegal’s return clash against Tunisia, scheduled for Wednesday in Monastir.
Speaking before departure from Dakar on Monday, the experienced forward offered a blunt take on the first leg:
“Tunisia had categorically refused to play and leave its bases in the first leg in Dakar.”
However, Bâ believes the upcoming match will be different:
“In Monastir, it’s a different story that awaits the Carthage Eagles. They’ve promised to play, and if they do, Senegal will bring its offensive armada to bear.”
Acknowledging the difficulty of the challenge ahead, he added:
“It’s a complicated match. We have to make up for the draw in Dakar by taking the three points this time.”
On his physical condition, Bâ was reassuring:
“I’m ready for this match. I don’t feel anything anymore. No more calculations—our objective is to win and remain top of the group.”
If selected to start on Wednesday, it will be Demba Bâ’s first appearance in these qualifiers, having been sidelined during Senegal’s first three fixtures. With his return, the Lions of Teranga regain a major attacking weapon just in time for a critical group clash.
