Cameroon international Mahamadou Nagida has said he is proud to have represented his country at the recently concluded 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Morocco.

Nagida, who plies his trade for French outfit Stade Rennes made three appearances for the Indomitable Lions and delivered an assist, as Cameroon reached the quarterfinals of the continental showpiece in the North African country.

Their hopes of securing the AFCON title dashed after succumbing to a 2-0 defeat to Morocco in the quarterfinals of the tournament.

However, the 20-year-old has expressed pride in representing Cameroon at the AFCON, stressing he and his teammates will continue to work for Cameroon to achieve their goals.

‘I am proud to have been able to participate in this Africa Cup of Nations with my country. Despite our elimination, we will continue to work together to achieve our goals,’ said Nagida.

Since making his debut for Cameroon in June 2025, the 20-year-old defender has made nine appearances for the national team and will be hoping to maintain momentum for the impending matches.

Nagida has already returned to Stade Rennes and is expected to feature for the club in their French Ligue 1 clash this weekend.
