Barcelona sporting director, Deco, has provided fresh update on contract negotiations between the club and attacking sensation Lamine Yamal.
According to him, a recent dinner meeting in Lisbon did not involve discussions about Lamine Yamal’s contract renewal as widely reported in the press.
This comes after the player’s agent, Jorge Mendes revealed contract extension talks have been progressing well in the last few weeks.
Mendes had assured that all is fine and he player will soon sign the new deal with FC Barcelona.
However, in an update, Deco has revealed that talks aren’t currently underway between the Spanish giants and the Spain forward with Moroccan roots.
Lamine Yamal has this season become a key player for FC Barcelona and is growing by the day. He continues to shine and is regarded as one of the best players in the world.
The forward’s current contract with FC Barcelona will run until 2026. He has already assured that he will sign a long term deal with Barcelona after stressing that he loves the club so much.
A new bumper deal is expected to be signed between FC Barcelona and Lamine Yamal at the end of the season.
