France defender of Guinea-Bissau descent, Dayot Upamecano, has reportedly clashed with Bayern Munich officials over contract extension talks.
According to sources, this comes after the player made several demands through his representatives.
Among the demands, the Frenchman wants a reduction in his current €120 million release clause.
Additionally, the 26-year-old is asking for up to €15 million annually, including bonuses. This is almost double his current salary.
Bayern Munich officials leading the contract extension talks are not happy with the demands, and hence, talks have stalled.
The club has reportedly rejected all the demands and will propose a counter offer at the next meeting with the player’s representatives.
The German club is keen on bringing in reinforcements in the summer transfer window and does not want to commit so much finances to a player already on its books with a contract that runs until 2026.
The club is keen on sorting out the issues with Dayot Upamecano’s contract extension as soon as possible.
