France defender of Guinean-Bissau descent, Dayot Upamecano, has decided to stay at Bayern Munich and will extend his contract to 2030.
After a period of consideration, the centre-back has agreed to stay at the German champions despite interest from other European clubs.
Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano reports that Paris Saint-Germain and an unnamed English club had shown concrete interest in signing Upamecano, while Real Madrid explored the possibility but did not make a formal offer.
Ultimately, Upamecano opted to remain at Bayern, with his new contract including a release clause that will become active in the summer of 2027.
The French defender is now ready to put pen to paper on the deal, securing his place in Munich for the long term.
His contract extension will serve as a major boost for Bayern Munich. He is regarded as a key player for the team and will play an important role in their quest to win silverware this season.
