Davide Diaw: Italy-Senegal striker joins Cjarlins Muzane on free transfer from Cittadella
Italy-Senegal forward Davide Diaw has joined Cjarlins Muzane on a free transfer from Cittadella, signing a deal with the Serie D side until 30 June 2027.
The 34-year-old centre-forward drops into Serie D – Group C after spending last season with Cittadella, and makes the move with a current market value of €200,000. The switch marks a return to the fourth tier for Diaw, who previously featured at that level earlier in his career before establishing himself higher up the Italian pyramid.
Born in Cividale del Friuli and standing at 1.91m, Diaw has built a reputation as a powerful right-footed striker across the professional leagues. He brings extensive Serie B experience to Cjarlins Muzane, having made 196 appearances and scored 51 goals in Italy’s second tier, as well as adding 19 assists and featuring in promotion and relegation play-offs.
Diaw arrives after a long spell in the professional game that included moves through Virtus Entella, Cittadella, Pordenone, Monza, Modena, Bari and LR Vicenza. His most expensive transfer came in January 2021, when he joined Monza from Pordenone in a €3.5m deal, underlining the level he has operated at during his peak years.
He also has a Coppa Italia scoring record of five goals in nine appearances and has found the net five times in eight Serie B play-off matches, highlighting his impact in high-stakes fixtures. Earlier in his career he won the Serie C Group A title with Virtus Entella in 2018-19.
Diaw’s move to Cjarlins Muzane has been finalised as a free transfer from Cittadella, with his contract in Serie D running through to the end of June 2027.
