David Kembo: Franco-Congolese midfielder returns to Claye-Souilly on free transfer

Teenage defensive midfielder David Kembo has rejoined French club Claye-Souilly on a free transfer from Montfermeil U19. The 18-year-old, who holds both French and DR Congo nationality, has moved back to the club where he previously played at youth level.

Kembo, born in Livry-Gargan in August 2007, switches to Claye-Souilly after a season in the National U19 set-up with Montfermeil. He had stepped up through Montfermeil’s ranks over the past two years, progressing from the U17s to the B team, then to the senior side and finally their U19 squad.

Operating primarily as a defensive midfielder and favouring his right foot, Kembo featured regularly in National U19 Group B last season, making 13 appearances and scoring once. He also played in the Coupe Gambardella, adding further minutes at youth national level competition.

Before his spell at Montfermeil, Kembo had already been on the books at Claye-Souilly as a youth player, leaving their academy in 2023 to join Montfermeil U17. His latest move therefore marks a return to familiar surroundings, this time with senior experience and national youth-level match practice behind him.

Claye-Souilly have not disclosed contract details, but Kembo’s switch from Montfermeil U19 is a confirmed free transfer.
