David Idowu linked with Club Africain move from Arda Kardzhali
Nigeria midfielder David Idowu is being linked with a move from Bulgarian club Arda Kardzhali to Tunisian side Club Africain.
Idowu, 26, plays as a defensive midfielder and has been with Arda Kardzhali since joining the club on 25 October 2024. The proposed move would take him from Bulgaria’s efbet Liga to Tunisia’s Ligue 1.
He has made eight appearances for Arda Kardzhali this season, contributing one assist. Idowu has started 33% of the club’s possible league matches and has played 49% of the available minutes, while receiving one yellow card.
The Nigerian’s current contract with Arda Kardzhali runs until 30 June 2027, meaning any move would involve the Bulgarian club agreeing to an early departure or retaining him beyond the current transfer speculation.
Idowu previously joined Arda Kardzhali as a free agent after leaving Latvian club Daugavpils. He had spent part of his earlier career with Real Sapphire before moving to Daugavpils in 2019.
Club Africain’s interest comes with Idowu established in the Arda Kardzhali squad but not a regular starter in the opening weeks of the current campaign. The rumour was recorded on 14 September, with the midfielder’s future still tied to Arda Kardzhali under his existing contract.
