Amidst considerable speculation about his future, David Carmo has made a definitive decision. The Angolan central defender has turned down Olympiakos’ offer to remain with FC Porto, signaling his commitment to the Portuguese club.

David Carmo’s recent half-season loan spell with Olympiakos proved highly successful.

During his time in Greece, Carmo became a pivotal figure in the team’s defense, contributing significantly to their triumphs in the Greek Super League and the Europa Conference League.

His performances were so impressive that Olympiakos expressed a strong desire to secure his services permanently, even willing to pay €12 million for the transfer.

However, Carmo has decided against returning to Greece, despite the Piraeus club’s keen interest.

According to reports from the Athenian press, Carmo has unequivocally declined the offer from Olympiakos.

The 24-year-old defender has made it clear that he intends to continue his career in Porto, provided he receives the backing of FC Porto’s new coach, Victor Bruno.

This decision aligns with recent comments from FC Porto’s director of football, who stated that the club’s new management is counting on Carmo for the upcoming season.

David Carmo’s commitment to FC Porto comes after overcoming a challenging period under former coach Sérgio Conceição.

The previous head coach had publicly criticized Carmo, suggesting that he needed to improve his work ethic and performance levels.

This criticism followed a disagreement between Carmo and veteran defender Pepe, which resulted in Carmo being demoted to FC Porto’s B team before his loan move to Olympiakos.

Despite these setbacks, Carmo thrived in Greece, regaining his confidence and showcasing his abilities.

His success in the Europa Conference League has solidified his reputation as a dependable and skilled central defender.

Carmo’s decision to stay with FC Porto reflects his desire to establish himself as a key player for the Dragons.

With the departure of Sérgio Conceição, Carmo feels optimistic about his prospects at the club.

He is now focused on earning his place in the starting lineup under coach Victor Bruno’s guidance.

The upcoming season will be crucial for David Carmo as he seeks to cement his position at FC Porto and contribute to the team’s success in domestic and international competitions.

His determination to stay and fight for his place demonstrates his commitment to the club and his belief in his abilities.

In conclusion, David Carmo’s choice to remain at FC Porto and reject Olympiakos’ offer underscores his ambition and dedication.

As he prepares for the new season, Carmo is poised to play a significant role in FC Porto’s defensive lineup, ready to take on new challenges and help the team achieve its goals.
