There have been speculations about David Beckham potentially ending his retirement and returning to professional football. The champion football club of Bolivia, Bolivar, is reportedly interested in having Beckham play for them, especially in Copa Libertadores matches. The owner of Bolivar, billionaire Marcelo Claure, is currently helping Beckham financially as Beckham is working on building his own MLS franchise in Miami, scheduled for 2015.
Claure has teased the idea on social media, tweeting a photo of Beckham in Bolivar’s jersey with the caption: “My partner in MLS and maybe he wants to visit Bolivia and… fill in the rest yourselves.”
While the prospect of Beckham returning to the pitch for Bolivar remains uncertain, the connection through financial assistance for his MLS franchise adds an interesting twist to the speculation.
