Daryl Dike: Former Orlando and West Brom striker linked with MLS return to Orlando City
United States-Nigeria striker Daryl Dike, currently without a club after leaving West Bromwich Albion, is being linked with a return to MLS side Orlando City.
The 26-year-old centre-forward is a free agent following his departure from the Championship club on 1 July 2026 and is understood to be attracting interest from his former team, who are exploring options to reinforce their attack. Dike’s current market valuation stands at around €1m, a figure that would make any move to Orlando a relatively low-risk deal in salary and bonus terms rather than transfer fee negotiations.
Dike previously enjoyed a prolific spell with Orlando, scoring 18 goals in 35 MLS appearances before earning an €8.63m move to West Brom in January 2022. His form in the United States, where he averaged a goal roughly every 142 minutes in league play, was central to that move and remains a key reference point for clubs assessing his suitability.
Before joining West Brom permanently, Dike also impressed during a loan stint in the Championship with Barnsley, further underlining his ability to adapt to different styles and competitions. Internationally, he was part of the United States squad that won the Gold Cup in 2021, adding continental silverware to his CV.
For now, Dike remains unattached following the end of his contract at West Brom, leaving him free to negotiate directly with Orlando or any other suitors as discussions over his next move continue.
