Swiss champions Young Boys Bern are reportedly setting their sights on Malian left-back Daouda Guindo as a top priority for the upcoming winter transfer window.
The RB Salzburg defender, known for his dynamic and ultra-offensive style, has caught the attention of the Yellow and Black club as they seek a replacement for Ulisses Garcia, their former standout in the Swiss Super League.
Guindo, who made his RB Salzburg debut on February 12, 2021, in a commanding 3–1 home victory over Austria Lustenau, has grown into a coveted prospect in European football. He has also earned international recognition, receiving his first call-up to the Mali national team in June 2022.
Young Boys face competition from Dutch powerhouse Feyenoord, who have also monitored the 22-year-old closely. However, Feyenoord appears inclined to hold off any decisive move until the summer, with Guindo entering the final year of his contract at Salzburg.
As the Yellow and Black club push for a swift deal to strengthen their left flank, Guindo’s performances and potential could make him one of the most exciting winter additions to Swiss football.
