Daouda Beleme: VfB Lubeck Re-Sign Former Loanee on Free Transfer

VfB Lubeck have re-signed centre-forward Daouda Beleme from United Arab Emirates side Al-Jazira Al-Hamra Club on a free transfer, completing the move on 7 July 2026 ahead of the 2026-27 Regionalliga Nord campaign.

Beleme, 25, returns to the German club after a previous spell on loan from Hamburger SV during the 2023-24 season. The Hamburg-born attacker, who holds both Burkinabe and German nationality, is primarily a central striker and prefers his right foot. He stands at 1.87m, giving Lubeck a physically imposing option at the top end of the pitch.

The move brings Beleme back to familiar surroundings after a year in the UAE. He joined Al-Jazira Al-Hamra in August 2025 from Hamburger SV II, with his market value at that point recorded at zero following a gradual decline from a peak of 250,000 during his time with HSVs second team in 2023.

Beleme has spent most of his senior career in Germanys lower divisions. After progressing through the youth ranks at Eimsbutteler TV and FC St. Pauli, he stepped up to FC St. Pauli II in 2020, then moved across the city to Hamburger SV II in 2021. His form there saw him integrated into Hamburger SVs first-team setup in 2023, followed by a loan to 3. Liga side FC Ingolstadt 04 and then to Lubeck in early 2024.

His return to VfB Lubeck follows a series of short-term moves, including loans and returns between HSVs first and second teams and spells in both Germany and the UAE. Beleme now joins Lubeck as a permanent addition to their Regionalliga Nord squad.
